Kennedy Appointment at the Middle of a Growing Rift in NY Democratic Party

Boston Herald reports that Sheldon Silver, Speaker of the NY Assembly, has agreed to support Caroline Kennedy if she's chosen by Gov. Paterson. Silver insists that if she's chosen, he will support her re-election. The key is the 'if'. Until recently, Silver had been heavily opposed to the Kennedy appointment.
